292 exhaust manifold cracked. What to buy?
So I just purchased a 64 c20 a week ago and going through it i found the exhaust manifold is cracked so I'm lookimg at what to replace it with.
Heres my issue. My current manifold has the heat riser\flapper valve. Im trying to figure out if I can install a manifold without the heatriser\flapper valve without any issues. I'm looking at the cheap ebay replacements. Just need something to make the truck driveable without changing the rest of the exhaust or intake. Any info would be great. Thanks |

Don't know what the weather is where you are but you can do away with the heat riser you just might experience some cold start issues. Probably nothing more than starting an old truck anyway. If you aren't wanting to change anything then a stock replacement is your best bet.

Surrey, BC? I think https://www.12bolt.com or http://www.cliffordperformance.net might have what you're looking for especially if you want to upgrade. For the intake, there are heater plates available that use the engine coolant to warm the intake manifold.

There's a Chinese repro of the exhaust manifold available for the 6 banger engines- check Rockauto.
Use super high temp silicone on the gaskets and tighten the bolts in the right order- it's not a perfect casting. |

I bought one of the reproduction ones a few years ago, and it mated with my Offy intake and sealed up just fine. Summit racing had the best price at the time, with free shipping.
