:o:oWanting to see if anyone has run into this, I changed everything to leds on my 68 SB from LMC including a LED flasher. All the lights turn on and hazards flash but the turn signals do not so wanted to ask the experts and see what I am missing.

Your new flasher could be bad or it could be in the wrong socket .

I am not an expert, but did you install only one LED flasher. I think you would need one for both the Hazards and Signals?

I have led's in my 66. I had the same problem. Led's don't pull enough amps to make the flasher work. You can install resistors in line to the turn signal bulbs. Or I installed a hidden standard socket and bulb to make the flasher work.

Yes. You have to have one for both the Hazards and Signals.

When you can use the correct LED flasher that works, why go to all the trouble to install resistors or hidden standard bulbs. I should mention that the flashers that I use have to be grounded.

The issue I see with installing resistors or alternate lights to induce a load in the system, is you have to know where you are installing them. If you install a resistor into the series portion of a series-parallel circuit and it goes bad, you lose some or all of the lights depending on where the load is located.

If it were installed in a parallel leg it would just take out whatever lights are on that leg.

Using the appropriate flasher, you bypass adding extra, unnecessary resistance (which adds heat, though, not really an issue with a low-current draw like LED's).

I tried 4 different "LED" flashers and none of them would work. Lights would flash once then would just stay on. When you use the resistors you only lose the bulb that that the resistor is wired into. Say you wire them into your front lights and the left resistor goes bad you lose your left front light and the left side won't flash. Right side still works. Or when using the hidden lights like I did if the hidden bulb burns out on the left side all that happens is the left side doesn't flash.

67 Burb do you have the part number for the flasher you used. If I can find one that works I would remove the hidden lights. I have found LED's for my wagon and changing the flasher would be much easier than wiring in extra lights.

Well I ordered 2 Flashers like 67Burb was using and installed them last night in the truck when I got home from work, the Hazards flashed but the Turn signals are still not working so the fun continues, I have now used 2 different LED flashers so my next stop is to ask a local friend who chases electrical issues for local dealership. I will say when they are all on they look great!

Led lights are polarity sensitive. Are you able to install the flasher two ways or just one. IOWs 180 degrees?

No just one way, but this has gotten interesting because I replaced all the truck lights with LEDS from LMC and have a 66 LS Cobra and replaced those bulbs with new from Super Bright LEDS and all new LED flashers and they don't work either so its been pretty funny so far. Then the wife chimes in and said I thought they worked before so why did you change them? I went and got another beer.:(

You now know that at least one flasher works. Did you try switching the flashers around to see if the problem is still with the signals, or with the flasher?

And make sure to ground that little pigtail sticking out of the flasher.

From a diagnostic point I would say one has to wonder what is different between the hazard and turn signal circuit. If the flasher works and the relevant light assemblies work when commanded but none of the components work together when the signal system becomes part of the equation I would start looking there. I'm bored at work and have a new task. Thanks.

A couple years back, I bought another flasher like the two that were in my Burb to have as a spare. I tried it out just so I'd know it was OK. It didn't work. I returned it and got my money back. After doing some research, I realized that it had come with a polarity-change adapter stuck onto it. If I had pulled that adapter off, it would have worked.

If anyone gets one of these flashers with this adapter stuck on the prongs, pull it off before using it in a NEG.-ground vehicle.

If both flashers worked the hazard 4-ways, then they will both be negative ground. There's gotta be something else going on here.

And, grounding the flashers is essential.

just read all the posts and I am in the process of installing all LED's in my 69 C10 and want to know where I can get the Flashers from I looked on Ebay but they don't tell me if they will work on my truck. Can any of you help or have the link for me the 2 flashers.

I have done my whole truck in LED's. If the flashers don't fix it then you have wiring issues. As stated it's polarity senitive. If you have one wire that is swapped it will cause the issue you are having.:chevy:

Ok thanks mine are all factory wires none have been messed with so hopefully everything works right. mine is a 2 prong and I found a EF32rl on ebay and purchased 2 one for turn signals and one for Hazards. I have a Heavy Duty EF32 electronic in it right now but someone told me that it would not work so I ordered this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/131836856669 which is suppose to be the correct one for my truck.

I have a similar problem I installed my front and rear LED lights and flashers. When I have the head lights off the brake and turn signals work and are bright. But when I turn the headlights or marker lights on they don't work the turn signals work but the tail lights and front marker lights don't come on. Any help?

Remove the front marker lights and see if everything else works ok.

I found the problem the LED tail lights I had were not the proper led I need a BAY15D and I had bought a BA15D. Problem is fixed now.
