Not a rag joint
1 Attachment(s)
The steering is loose on my 89 K2500. This seems sloppy, so I think I have found part of the problem.
Attachment 2263599 What is it? I know rag joints from all my OLDER rigs, but don't know what to call this. Next question. How easy is this to replace and what would I expect to pay for the parts? Steve |

Re: Not a rag joint
Since you're having problems with it, I would call it an on the rag joint.

Don't even go there! I have nine daughters.

I don't know what it's called but I rebuilt the one on my 72. It's like a swivel joint. I don't remember where I got the parts. When I get to my service manuals tomorrow I'll look it up. |

AutoZone doesn't show it for an 89 but it shows the shaft for my 99. I thought they were the same but maybe not. I just noticed it doesn't have that upper joint either.

This is probably what you're looking for. I used it in my '89 Cheyenne to replace its' sloppy rag-joint shaft. The number on the shaft is a GM number, and can be found on-line
