Welcome.
Sorry I can't give you any info on it but I think they make cool hot rods.

Don't know much about them, wish I did their pretty cool... so ugly their cute.. kinda like a bull dog
I've always thought that they would be awsome as a base for an retro RV if you could graft a 40's - 50's airstream onto it and make it work with the COE.
something like this one but without the pointy rear or have it as a toy hauler

those old COE's are pretty cool looking. would love to make a rat rod lowrider out of one

Re: Cab over chevy

Low rider defeats the purpose. I'd like to have one too, so I could ride high, and see the sights.

That Visor is really neat, wow, i don't think I ever have seen one that big. I bet it would sell for big $$$$$$ bucks alone.

Re: Cab over chevy

It looks to be a 52 from the build date.

I'm not a fan of the visors on trucks but that truck needs to keep it's visor as part of it's whole look.

What are the plans for it now that you have it? The bed that is on it looks like it can be controverted to cash at the scrap yard or parts of it could be used to build work benches or other shop equipment.
This one was at Billetproof North West last month

It was a bit rough around the edges but I have the feeling that it is used almost daily as a working rollback car hauler. It also shows why trucks need the real deal visors if guys intend to run them.
I could see it with a really nice flatbed on it, set up with a chassis mount camper on the back or with a ramp bed or roll back bed. I'm still pondering what to do with my 51 1-1/2 ton standard cab truck but a rampbed is looking like the way I will go with it if someone doesn't fall in love with it first.

Re: Cab over chevy

my plans for it... honestly i dont really know. im just glad that i saved it from a scrap iron pile. some day i'll put it on a newer frame and at this time im saying a 350 engine behind the cab. and then either a roll back style flat bed or maybe a long box truck bed from the 50s. i like alot of options other people have done and just cant get my mind set on one option. also the paint looks green in the pics but thats just because its so sun faded, its really blue. Im an auto body tech so body work wouldnt be a challenge, but i might keep the original body as is, kind of a rat rod old school look. possibilities are endliess really. got to sell my 383 66 dodge polara first tho to give a little money to the COE.and also expecting my first baby in Oct.so family comes first, then projects. but atleast i have it, its not going anywere at this point.

Re: Cab over chevy

It looks to still be a '51 by the doors. Just because it is December doesn't mean they'd switched over to the next model yet. I have a December '49 1 1/2 ton standard cab and it is registered and titled as a 49.

There is another post on COEs up now and I put a link to one from RoddingRoundTable.com where he used an 88-98 Chevy full size frame, a 350 behind the cab, had bed sides built for a 12' bed, and ran with 47-55S1 rear fenders. It is a Dodge cab but awesome.
