Those who have done MileMarker conversion...

Are you happy with the results, cost and reliability? Thinking of doing the 502 kit in my 87 half ton. No garage up here in Maine but I have a driveway and I’m not afraid to use it

I worked for a company that had a fleet of GM trucks in the 70's & 80's. We converted every 203 we had. I can't remember ever having an issue with them. I believe they picked up fuel mileage but can't remember that either! (but what would that be? From 8 mpg to 10?) The trucks were loaded heavy & run hard. I don't remember the name of the conversion kits but they were similar in design.

With that said, my DD is a 79 GMC K25. It still as the full time slugs in the axle but someone converted the T-case. (I'm guessing the PO took the lockout hubs with him) It has slop in the case when engaging 4wd & has gotten worse over the years. It's so bad now that I need to repair or replace it. This truck has been worked hard plowing & hauling cord wood.

87 wont have a 203 tcase. it should be a 208. all you need is manual hubs to get rid of your auto hubs in that case.

I have the 208 transfer case, Mile Marker does not make a conversion kit for this tcase. I can put manual hubs on it but the front shaft is still going to turn. (As per the tech at mile marker)

No ,,,, Hubs unlocked, 208 in 2 wd, not 4wd, the front drive shaft will not spine when you are driving....... Tech at milemarker is a Idiot

Thanks, think I’ll just order mile marker hubs with the bolt kit (comments ?).
104 hubs with 1/2 ton nut conversation kit. $113.35

This truck stays in Maine and only driven in summer, not really a wheeler.

You don't need the nut kit either. Your hubs are auto locking not full time so unless they are bad they are fine.

Just like school, I was never a good student but always eager to learn. Y’all are the teacher.

Thanks!
