Question about “buddy buckets”

4 Attachment(s)
Hi everyone, After many years of looking I have finally come across what I belive to be a set of buddy buckets for my 72 C10... after looking at the frame of the seats and comparing it to some pics ive found here on the fourms ive noticed mine seem to be a bit different.

I was told they came out of a 67 c10 but the frame is missing the flat section that bolts to the floor and also its missing the centre support that was joined to the middle frame bar.. there is no evidence that a support was ever there or that the mounting surface was cut off. I am just wondering if I happen to be missing some of the hardware required to mount these suckers in my truck.

Ive included some pictures so you understand what exactly im talking about.

Thank you for the quick response,

Would you happen to know which year dodge?

And from looking at dodge frames they seem to be different in the sense that the frame rails protrude through the side bracket. Also the seat adjustment handle looks the same as every GM example on here.

Not disagreeing with you just trying to be certain as to what I have here.
Thanks again!

I think dodge was 78-79. Google little red express buddy seat. International had them too but not sure what frame was like

I would still use them , covers are close enough to work . I had a nice set for sale of the Chevy ones ,thankfully everyone thought I was too high on them . I was lowballed on them at a local swap meet and told the guy I would build a truck around them before I took his offer . I just bought Houndstooth covers for that build .

I agree as not being chevy, but dodge or international. I think dodge was late 60s to about 79 and I think international was early 70s. With a little work they will look fine and most people wont know the difference.

Re: Question about “buddy buckets”

The seats (not just the frame) used in Internationals are a lot different from those used in Chevy and Dodge. Those seats you have are a close match to Chevy, and the center console is identical. I agree with the above and would roll them. You just need to modify the frame to fit the floor.

Thanks for all the info guys. Shame they aren’t a GM piece. was really hoping I stumbled on a real gem. I think im just going to use them anyways since they were close enough to fool me. Does anyone have dimensions of the mounting plates so I can fab up some brackets?

Thanks everyone!

one other question.. Regardless of what these seats may have come out of How did they mount to the floor? There is no flat flange or evidence of another bracket that was bolted to it at one point.

I dont know how they mounted as I never have seen any of those in person but you may have to get pics of a Chevy set and have some made . I have a set I could get you pics of but would have to text them to you as I cant post on here .

Here are a few random pics I have of my chevy buddies. I can get measurements or other pics if you let me know what you need
