Re: Factory, Promotional and Misc Films
Here's a good one:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JE7Q3IICRg I think it's a little later than 1978, maybe 1980 or so because it shows the TopKick. |
Re: Factory, Promotional and Misc Films
I fixed it for you Bob. I believe the 4-53 was also available in these trucks, but they really didn't mention it in the video.

Thanks for fixing the link. As I remember, the 8.2L Detroit 'Fuel Squeezer' replaced the Detroit 4-53T in '79 or '80. I think for one model year both were available in the regular C series mediums. The 3208 Cat was only available in the high mount cab-high hood TopKick and Kodiak. A lot of promotional material at the time also listed the Cummins VT-225 as an option in the TopKick/Kodiak as well, but there is some doubt any were actually built. |

Re: Factory, Promotional and Misc Films
Great idea for a thread, Bill. I came across this one last week. Light trucks, but commercial line

Here's one with Roy Rogers in it:
Tim, I tried to convert yours to video, but some just won't co-operate for some reason. |

Re: Factory, Promotional and Misc Films
That's all? Thanks Bill. How do you like some of that info on that circa 1957 film? "It's the trucker's job" to stop and assist motorists. 8 hour limit? When did that guy sleep in those two days?
|
Re: Factory, Promotional and Misc Films
I found the film pretty interesting. I believe they said something about going to a motel to sleep, but I don't know much more than that, lol. I'm surprised that they didn't show a truck with a sleeper cab.
That said, a friend of mine still driving makes an overnight trip at least once a week in a day cab. He gets to sleep at night in a nice motel with all expenses paid. Now that is having it nice. |
Re: Factory, Promotional and Misc Films
How it should be. I tried to fix those first two I posted and I think I messed them up. It didn't work so I typed everything back, but...
Never mind. Just checked and they work //youtu.be/8FR3IUNmHhM |
Re: Factory, Promotional and Misc Films
Tim, To get this one to post, I had to click onto it, copy and paste the title of it, close it out and start from scratch again. For some crazy reason, lol.

Re: Factory, Promotional and Misc Films
Thanks. They all work either way but it's nice for it to show what the video is
