67-72 Trucks with CAPs/TOPPERs Photos

I'm looking to get a cap for the bed of my truck, but curious as to how different styles will look.

Please post pix of your trucks with caps on 'em.

1967-1972, any style!
Sleek, newer caps... older, boxy caps... WHATEVER!

Thanks so much!
:metal:

Here is my 69 GMC. It has had a topper all its life and the inside of the bed is in excellent shape. I took the top off for a little while, but decided I wanted the bed to stay in great shape--plus it is nice for town trips since I can lock stuff up!

Hey jrdv - that looks pretty sweet. I like the modern cap on the older truck. What brand is that?

For me, I think the white shell just looks "right" on my truck.

As for the last one, I didn't like it very much, so I took it off.

green724x4 - You got one sweet ride - even with the "grandpa cap" - LOL!

nightmare - That setup looks mighty nice - what brand of cap is that?

El Jay - The 3rd pic is great... reminds me of something you'd see up here in Maine!

Sure is nothing wrong with wanting/needing a topper on your truck. I used this one for many years until the aluminum was corroding away. It served as a camper, tool stowage, cargo protection, and shelter from the elements. This is a pic from 1980.

Re: 67-72 Trucks with CAPs/TOPPERs Photos

When I bought mine the PO's daughter had the vintage shell her Dad ran repainted. It was on saw horses behind their barn. I drove the truck home without it, but I regret it now. I just did not have anywhere to store it as I was not going to run it. I told her to sell it. Oddly enough I still have the key for it on my ring. She said keep it.

Are you up there by the Hainesville(sp?) Woods, perchance?

If I'm driving my civic, yes... I'm up by Haynesville.
If I'm driving my truck, nope... nowhere near it.
(it's amazing what the difference 36mpg and 8mpg can make!)
It's about 3 hours away.
