what is rare about it, 4 x 4s didn't come with power steering or power brakes until later years. the air is more than likely aftermarket. what are the other rare options?

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought you couldn't get a short wheel base in a 4x4?

Re: Rare 64 on craig's.

why not? you can also get suburban and panel 4 x 4s and they are 115" w/b.
K10 are 115 and 127" wb. K20 are 127" wb

You can!
My dad has a factory '64 4x4 step side just like this, but no PS, PB or AC.
I've never seen a swb 4x4 that isn't a step side, but I've seen a few of the stepsides before.

Re: Rare 64 on craig's.

I've been trying to buy a guys short bed step side factory 4x4 65 for years but he won't let go of it so it just sits in his backyard. But I don't think power steering or power brakes were available on 4x4s plus the power steering pump is a later style.

Re: Rare 64 on craig's.

@61K10, what was the process for fitting disk brakes to the close knuckle D44? I have and all original 62 K10 panel that I want disc brakes on but would rather not swap the entire axle. Thank you!

Power Brakes were available on all K series from the factory. 1960-1962 was Hydrovac style , separate from the master cylinder. In fact it was also available 1955-1959 as an accessory. 1963-1966 was same as C10 for K series. I have a 65 and 66 K20 that were ordered new this way. The truck in question , probably was added later as not to much looks original

nothing rare here all late model stuff even that big ass hole in dash

Re: Rare 64 on craig's.

I'd have to see the K in the vin before being comfortable with that truck.

As for power brakes, I've got a friend with an original '65 short-wide that has factory power brakes.

It's complete, but it's a rust bucket.
