1973 Regular Cab Dually

Just picked this up. 1 owner truck 55,505 original miles that I stumbled upon while looking through Craigslist. Solid body with the only rust being in the front of the hood and the front of the passenger fender. I plan on cleaning it up and using it to pull my car trailer.

Re: 1973 Regular Cab Dually
Sweet looking find. My dad had a 73 camper special brand new. 15th one off the assembly line. Ordered in September, didn't get it till March. He sold it in 89 with 260,000 miles, when he got a new one, before the body style changer.

Such a COOL dually.
Love the color. |
Re: 1973 Regular Cab Dually
Great find. You don't see many with a factory tachometer. My '77 C-20 Trailering special has the tach. also.

I was looking at my truck and was curious about a few items I haven't seen on other trucks with the Camper Special option. The shock from the bed to the back of the cab and the tie down points that go through the bed, were those a factory or dealer installed option? I know they are for the camper to tie down to and the shocks help with the weight distribution. There are also mounts on the front cowl below the windshield for the camper overhang to mount to that I have never seen on another truck other than pics once I joined this forum. And the tank I'm positive was not from the factory but wondered if it could have been a dealer installed option. Its another fuel tank but nothing like I have seen on other trucks.
Sorry the pictures are sideways. |

Got a surprise in the mail today. The original owners daughter sent me a packet with some cool documents on the truck. Needless to say I was shocked and a little speechless when I opened it up and saw what was inside. An original buildsheet, 1973 Chevrolet Light Duty Truck Series 10 thru 30 Maintenance Schedule, Emissions Control Systems Information and Warranty, New Vehicle Warranty, Owner's and Driver's Manual and the New Vehicle Inspection Procedure sheet. I also got my cool key holders from the Squarebody Syndicate.
