1972 blazer rear hatch catch

my blazer has the rear catches for the hatch but there is no rear mounts that go from the top to the body. There are holes in the body for the missing bracket but they're not threaded. what's going on, is this normal for 1972?

It should have threaded nutcerts in it. They were probably broken loose at some point. I have had them spin on the bolt and come out with the bracket still attached. Here is a picture of what it all should look like. You can buy aftermarket gripcerts and a cheap tool to put them in with. If you have a local sign shop close by that builds electric signs they might even have some and put them in for a small fee.

Any after market source for the brackets I'm missing. Originals are probably next to impossible to find.

They come up in the blazer classifieds here every once in a while. If you pay the $25 premium member fee you can place a want to buy ad for them. That would be the easiest quickest way. I do not think they are reporduced.

I don't think 69's had them but 70-72 I think did.

Would it be possible to get the measurements off those? I'm also missing mine and am currently building everything from the handle out to them. Thats the only part I dont have any sort of example to copy. Thanks
