Is there an easy way to make chrome look like brushed nickel?
 
Just a noob trying to make my grill, and chrome pieces look like brushed nickel? Please help

what type of vehicle? lots of things called chrome are not/stainless plastic etc

b4 doing on somthin good it would b a great idea to try it on something that is disposable

good thought. if it's heavy chromed steel or a factory truck style aluminum grille it would be two different processes.

On the chrome steel, you could sand in one direction to get the brushed look and then clear over it...maybe using a slightly tinted clear to achieve the nickel look...

On the grille, you would have to first strip the anodized coating off and then you could sand and clear it...

and if chromed plastic, you wouldn't want to sand it at all....maybe brush on a finish in that case...I saw chip foose make a "brushed" look paint stripe on one of his overhaulin cars by sanding down the paint before clearing it....
