Your going to need a 2wd donor to make it happen, but yes it can be done. There are a couple of holes here and there that may need to be drilled or elongated, but I can't remember all of them.

I had a buddy that went from 4wd to 2wd, then a few years laer he is going back to 4wd. He is getting his use out of his Blazer....:p

They do kinda grow on ya, don't they...

2wd use coils.

You probably could 2wd a 4wd frame by keeping the leafs in the back and putting a front 2wd clip on.

The 70-72 frame rails are straight back in the rear area on the 4wd and kinda bow out around the coil springs on the 2wd. The 4wd will have leaf springs in the rear but the 2wd has trailing arms and coil springs. Most conversions I have seen keep the rear leafs, and put the front crossmember out of a 2wd truck in the front. I'm going from memory but I think that's right.

Good luck, Rg
