Re: exhaust thry x-member question
WHAT size holes did you cut and did yoy plate the crossmember . I,am gonna run 2 1/4 pipes

Re: exhaust thry x-member question
I had an exhaust shop build my exhaust. I'm running a 2.5" exhaust so I believe the holes are around 3" in diameter. The X-member is not strengthened where the holes are cut.

Here's a couple of pics of my cross member through holes. I used 4 1/2" tube by 1 1/2" wide and 3/16" thick. I picked up the tube from a fab shop down the road from me.

Re: exhaust thry x-member question
super rudy thanks. did you also flip the truck arm mounts
|
Re: exhaust thry x-member question
Yes I did flip the truck arm mounts but I changed them back because I thought there was too much pinion angle when I got the suspension loaded to ride height.

Re: exhaust thry x-member question
RUDY, how much did you drop the rear suspension. mine is 6-7 lowered lwb and is hard on carrier bearings

Re: exhaust thry x-member question
These look great. We have an LS and that exhaust gets really hot... we also have air ride with nylon lines. Real hot + nylon lines = sudden leaks. If your plans include anything plastic/ melty in the area consider heat wrap or insulation/ heat shields.

Re: exhaust thry x-member question
no plastic on my truck

Re: exhaust thry x-member question
My 68 has a 5 1/2-7" drop but I have a one piece drive shaft.
