Would anyone have a picture of what the stock firewall looked like? I bought on of these 58s for $500 but without motor and tranny or any wiring at all in the truck. All the light and fixtures are still there but the PO wanted to redo the whole thing so just cut everything out and up to what ever the leads were attached to. I'm planning on doing an S10 frame, boxing it and either dropping in a 350, or a Cat BT4 or BT6 in it just to be different. But before I go patching the holes in the firewall I want to see what was there before so I dont have to recut new holes later.

do a lot of measuring I think you'll find a s10 is way to narrow for your truck. A camaro clip is cheap and works pretty good

Here is photo of a stock fire wall. Factory assembly manual has a diagram that tells what everything is, I don't have it with me but could scan it tomorrow. Heater hoses are under the battery box if used. The one closest to the air cleaner next to the resistor is wiring for starter, coil and alt/gen (looks like this truck was converted to alt). One next to the horn relay is for horn relay, voltage regulator, front light harness, brake and dimmer switch. I think the tube next to the battery box is wiper vacuum. Stock horn is mounted on the radiator support

Here is a shot of a '59 firewall, PO painted it "old school" red. I don't like it so much but it is clean and you can see what is there.

The S10 is not way to narrow. Its not the common way thats been done forever using the camaro/nova front or rear steer front clip. I have never liked the wheel offset used in these frame grafts.
If you want the wheels/tires tucked in wheel wells, wider fronts, pro touring, Dubs diecast look go for it.
58/59's are longer in the front, you should be able to center the tire in the wheelwell with no problem. The radiator will probably have to be offset because of the gearbox.
I was going this route on my 57, but the gearbox was gonna go through front radiator surround. In my particular case it wasn't what I wanted. I bought a 56 1/2" hub to hub IFS crossmember on the Eb site -the same width as the S10/ G body for just over $200. Mines gonna be low and the wheels are gonna be tucked in. Like these...

I had a 64 chevy truck roller just given to me today by a guy I work with....he just used an 88 F250 to redo his 64 and was going to scrap the frame. All he did was strip the body off and left everything else to include a nicely built 350 and tranny.
