Restored tach gauge rear tin.
2 Attachment(s)
I have been trying to go that extra mile in restoring these gauges so I wanted to take it to the next level. Here are two tach gauge rear tins that I have restored with the tin being media blasted inside repainted and the back re stamped with the 8 CYL and the part #6468228 in the factory correct color and the font is spot on to the original. The outside was stamped and cleared to protect the bare metal. The only way I will sell these is if you send me a core in return. I would like $35.00 shipped with your core in return. These are the first two that I have done.
Thanks PT :chevy: |

Re: Restored tach gauge rear tin.
You definetly took it to the next level ! Will you share you secrets? What size media did you use? Is that sea foam green?
|
Re: Restored tach gauge rear tin.
Yes it is sea foam green and the media is what ever they have in the cabinet at work. I think it is fine grit.
Thanks PT |

Re: Restored tach gauge rear tin.
Paul,
Have you ever had any issue with a ground stud just spinning while trying to take that nut off the tach tin? |
Re: Restored tach gauge rear tin.
Never had that problem. Take a little 2n1 oil and put it on the stud and base of the nut and let it sit then try to take two smaller nuts and put them on the stud to hold it then try and back off the nut. Those fat lock may be to big to put two back to back, if so I have some fine tread nuts here.
