The Project Havoc....

Well where to start. I guess i will give a little story to go with this truck. My dad bought her new and then she did everything from logging to deliveries and finally retireing as the farm truck. She was the first truck i ever drove and when i turned 15 my mom gave me the keys to her. Well that is when i started to work on her, i built my first engine for her a 355, and did the interior of her. Well i drove her for about a year and then got bored on day and me and a friend decided to tear her apart, This was the beginning of a very beautiful love/hate realtionship. for the next year and a half i restored her, and then drove the bag off her....... time for pics.:metal:

Well after finishing her, the engine blew up on me, waterpump went and the gauge did not work, what are the chances! So she sat for 2 years until i moved and decided to build another engine, this time it was a 355 with about 350 horse. well that lasted about 6 months, no 1 intake valve decided to stay open and whack, whack it goes thru the single plane intake and finishes off with pieces btn the block and crank. (thanx to the machinist that screwed my guide up in my head) so she now sits for another 4 or so years..:smoke:

Now it is time to get serious and get her done and running, so we haul her back home to my garage and time for the tear down, so on to a ton of pics and desciptions. That is the amount of miles i got on her before the second tear down since i was 15. not too many eh.

nice project! Looks like the body work is mostly good, just the fun stuff (for me anyway) doing the mechanical rebuild?

Re: The Project Havoc....

Thanks for the replies guys, as for the bodywork she is in really good, shape, all original metal and everything, however, i will be deviating alittle bit from the original,, she is becoming a shortbox, (always was my dream), shaving a few things here and there, modifing a few things, and of course replacing the rockers, cabcorners, and front pillars, normal stuff, i will let you all in on a few things as we go, but she (Havoc) will no longer be the same truck, she is gonna have an alter ego real soon i hope, »Thanks

James

Congratulations. There's a little budget buster. I think your available hobby hours just took a nose dive, but that's not a bad thing. Good luck with both these projects.
