How to lower rear after 4” shackle/hangar drop
Hi all,
Had a 2/4 drop, now have a 4.5/4 drop. Would like to lower rear 1”-2” more, any ideas how? Thanks |

Easiest way would be to go back to factory hangers and shackles, then do an axle flip.

That’s what I thought. I read mixed reports on if I need a C notch or not, is it necessary?

You can also de-arch the leafs, or buy lowered leafs.

You will want to C notch if the rear end is slamming up against the frame.

I had 6" drop an didn't need a notch but if you plan to tow or haul stuff you will need one

Re: How to lower rear after 4” shackle/hangar drop
After doing a shackle/hanger drop years ago...then wanting to go lower, I took it all back out and did a flip. I would never recommend a shackle/hanger drop to anyone...just because it locks you in to that drop for the most part. With a flip, its easier to install and gives you more options to go lower in the future if you decide to.

Thanks bigblock, I think I may take the overload spring out and put bags in later. IDK, we will see what I do.
