Are hoods required at NHRA events?

I was going through the NHRA rule book yesterday and man......I have quite a few things left to do to be legal for my first time at the tree. One thing I couldn't figure out is if it is manditory to have a hood. My local 1/8th miles track follows NHRA requirements. They address windows and fenders. They even talk about height requirements when running a scoop but didn't say if you acutally HAVE to run a hood. My glass hood has a small crack in it that I need to repair and it got me thinking if it was needed at all. Any thoughts?? Thanks!

I just found the answer. It's under the "flash shield" section! Carburetor inlet MUST be covered.
