87 C10 6/8 static drop

Has anyone one done a rear flip kit with 2” drop shackles? Is it better to go with flip kit and 2” spring hanger? I went with the shackles but need to cut rear bed support and the pinion angle is off. Debating about if the spring hanger is a better route.

Welcome....
You get that low and I think you'll have to do a c-notch

The need for notching the bed support will depend on the spring length. The longer 56" HD springs don't require notching to clear a drop shackle. The shorter 52" lighter duty springs will require clearance.

As for which is better.... That's prob subjective. Personally, the rear shackle is less work.

Although you didn't ask, as Mongocanfly stated c-notching will be required. That being said, you'll still likely bottom out occasionally as the rear differential will hit the bed floor. This is a pic of my old 74 that was dropped w/a flip + Belltech shackles:

Typically a flip-kit alone doesn't require c-notching. When combined w/additional method to drop it more, there will prob be issues.

Also, the total amount of drop from a "flip-kit" is dependent on the quantity of springs in the spring pack. The greater the quantity of leafs, the greater the drop amount.

I'm pretty sure the OP was inquiring about the bed cross-sill supports. Adding shackles to trucks w/52" leafs typically result in interference w/a rear cross sill.
