Spoke with Michael from Tire buyer a seller on eBay. I'm looking at the 33 x 12.5 by 15 the minimum rim width is 8.5". I know a lot of you guys have them on your 15 by 8 but he said if it's not 8.5 it would void the warranty, any of you guys have experience with that.

That would be specific to the maker of the tire, and the dealer's whims. You can only get an answer by maker (they have web sites).

Yeah I checked the Cooper website it's kind of vague. I might just go with the 32s to avoid any hassles, won't look much different. Saw a not lifted 71 today with 31's and it looks pretty good. My truck has what looks like a three and a half inch lift if I measure the back block. I think the 32s by 11.5 will look okay.

I've had 10+ different brands of 33x12.50 on an 8" rim in my jeep days and beat the living crap out of them and never had an issue.

check the full specs and you see the approved rim width by the mfg...
im sure half inch would be fine but could be a warranty concern if questioned...

Thanks for the info. I've never had a claim with a tire company in over 40 years driving so probably wouldn't come up but for 1" difference, better to be compliant.
