03 Yukon 2500 8.1ltr fuel pump
 

I am struggling with figuring out which fuel pump for this truck. Or is there a way to rebuild the pump?
All of the guides for pumps talk about front tank, rear tank, aux tank. Didn't know yukons came with more than one. Mine only has one that is almost 40 gallons.

Nope, you have 2 tanks. One mounted along the left frame rail in front of the rear axle. The other is a big flat square one mounted behind the rear axle, and above the spare tire.

If the engine isn’t running, it’s because of the pump in the front fuel tank.

You are correct. Pulled them both. Both pumps have failed. Pulled them both and neither worked when putting voltage directly to the pump.

Two filler necks or some kind of equalization plumbing?

The filler neck goes to the rear tank. Then there is a big filler tube between the rear tank and the front tank. There is also a pump in the rear tank that will pump fuel into the front tank. The rear tank is used like a transfer tank. The computer looks at the fuel levels in each tank and it will decide when the rear fuel pump runs. It will also send a signal for the fuel gauge.

All 2500 suburbans from 00-07 have 2 tanks.
