Best Dash Pad?

I know this has most likely been beat to death, but who sells the best Dash Pad for fit & finish?

Looking for one that fits without any cutting or trimming of the speaker areas.

I've looked at Cheyenne Pickup ones & I tried calling them, but they don't answer the phone.

Maybe try messaging them, they are on the forum. But I believe they are your best bet. A lot of members seemed to really like them. Here's the link to their thread, in the parts section

Re: Best Dash Pad?

Several - if not most - of the well known online suppliers (like LMC Truck) sell dash pads that are made by Dashes Direct. I have one, and I am happy with it. It's not perfect, but neither were the factory originals, especially by our modern standards of fit and finish.

Brothers sells a dash pad they say has a metal core like the original dash pad. I am not sure but I think the Cheyenne pad may have a plastic core.

Try dashesdirect. They have some nice looking pads also.

Ive heard great things about cheyenne pick up ones and usa1 industry dash pads. Ive read a lot of good reviews about both dash pads.

I have a Dashes Direct one - the install was not easy - I had it in/out maybe 15 times to get it trimmed correctly, and still doesn't fit great. The edge on the drivers side wanted to flare way out as well, so I ran a large screw into it to hold it in place.

I've heard good things about USA1 Industries.
But haven't used them myself.

Re: Best Dash Pad?

I am still uncertain, because anything plastic distorts and disintegrates in 115+ degree HotZona heat.

Re: Best Dash Pad?

If you don't want to trim then Cheyenne is your dash pad.

I chose dashes direct but like others have said there is trimming and fitting involved.

My Cheyenne was plastic core which was pretty flexible even in the Texas winter. I have the dashes direct one from usa1 and I like it much better overall but I had to work for it.

I have a Cheyenne truck parts one and the fit is very nice. This company has actually been selling truck parts since the 80s. I found an old newspaper clipping from them my dad had cut out and had in the glovebox of his 72

cheyenne dash looks good quality, anyone heard about OER or USA1 quality.
It's a lot of money to spend on a dash, if you had to choose quality & apparence, which would you choose between OER, USA1 or Cheyenne?

VERY happy with my Cheyenne dash pad. Super easy install, no trimming necessary.

Re: Best Dash Pad?

I had mine restored by www.justdashes.com They also painted it back the factory blue color and correctly stamped out the hole in the drivers side top corner of the dash for the vin number for my 79. Looks NOS at about 1/2 the price of NOS and fit just like it did before I sent it out to be restored. Very pleased.

I tried one of the Cheyenne pads but, ended up sending it back because I was going to have to trim it to install it in the truck. Also the color was the wrong color blue.

Re: Best Dash Pad?

Hi everyone, this is Anthony with Cheyenne Pickup Parts. We have been making these dash pads since the early 90s and I have never had problems with flexing, cracking or splitting. I have on in my 84 crew cab that I installed in 1995, it has always lived outside in Oklahoma weather which is 100+ in the summer and below zero in the winters. It still looks the same as it did 23 years ago.
When we designed our reproductions we made them with an ABS backer instead of the metal ones like GM did because they allow the vinyl to move and so it doesn't crack. ABS is the same material we make our fan shrouds with, so you can imagine the temperatures it can handle. We tried not to replicate the known flaw of cracking in the original metal backed ones.
Urethane, like some other dashes are made with, would have been less expensive but it fogs the windshield and that is why we used vinyl.
There is no trimming to install our dashes. Check out our video on youtube or see it from our website cheyennepickup.com. We did not edit out any parts of the installation. The video is 16 minutes and I am explaining for most of that time. I have heard from many shops that they can install our pad in 10 minutes and we have many shops that are repeat customers as they use our pads on all their trucks.

There was a time someone was claiming to have our dash pad using our ad on several different websites. They claimed they had over 100 of them. I know they weren't mine because I did not sell to that person, and I know that they sold a bunch of dashes that way. I worked very hard to get that shut down. I do not know what dash they sold, I only know it wasn't mine.
I hope this helps everyone out.

Re: Best Dash Pad?

Do you have a money back guarantee if I buy your dash and it cracks in the AZ desert of 115 degree + temperatures. Inside vehicle temperatures in the summer can reach over 150 degrees when parked in the sun.
