Bed Covers?

I have a 70 GMC LWB. I'm look for solid a bedcover, metal or fiberglass. Would also prefer a flush mount cover.

I've seen a few trucks here that have what I'm looking for. But haven't found anyone selling a bed cover for my 70 GMC.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Eric

Not sure about a flush cover. There may be someone making one now, but you may have been seeing pictures of Checkmate covers that are no longer being made.

I got rid of this cover 2 years ago. It's a Gaylord Lid. It was very well made, It just wasn't my style.

Nice truck!

That's pretty much what I'm looking for. Just a few questions.

Did Gaylords do the color matching paint?

How far over the bed does the cover's lip extend?

Thanks
Eric

It was already on the truck when I got it so I don't know about the paint.
It's a very snug fit all the way around. Enough where it rubbed a little of the paint off the bed corners.

I have a Gaylord too, let me know what details you want. It came in primer and body shop matched to the body.

I had a Checkmate on my 52 for 15 years and I loved it. Great cover, great price. I hope someone picks up where they left off. My boss loves his Jackrabbit rollup and I'll admit it is handy:

Too pricey for my blood, I just ordered a Craftec with the Maxx vinyl and 2 extra bows to handle a snow load (had to ask for them). I can buy four for the price of one all metal roll up.

Thanks

Thanks everyone for the info. The Gaylord is looking very promising. I wish I had found this info sooner. My truck just got out of painting yesterday. It's been in body shop jail since last September.

Here is link to the Gaylord website. They are one of the best out there and do color matching although they are pricey.

Thanks I found the website. Looked around on it, no pricing that I could find. That usually mean lots of $$$$s.

Mine was $1600 plus $150 shipping. Again, it came unpainted.

I got an email today from Charlie at Gaylord's. He quoted $1500 for a primed OG Series cover with $150 for shipping.

Thanks everyone for all the good information.
