Like I said, you do great metal work... but you're seeing lines that aren't there.

What's great about customizing is that anyone can do anything they like. It doesn't have to make sense, be aesthetically pleasing, or appeal to others. There are, however, entire schools and automotive design centers dedicated to "proper" visual balance, vanishing points, perspective, and other established design mechanisms. I am NOT formally trained in this area, but do have considerable product design experience, as well as a bit of a passion for personal study of 'forms.'

/another 2 cents :metal:

ebfabman's install is probably about the best pt handle install possible. Damn nice job. I'll reserve judgement on the overall look untill I see one done on a finished truck. So Kevin, any second thoughts after seeing his install?

I agree 100%, like wedge chops. I think they are one of the worst things you can do to one of these trucks but if an owner likes it I am all for him or her doing one.

The fence is not ready to fall yet. Right now I am looking forward to the END (;)) of this project, not so much getting into it.

Feels like a bit of lashing out, but touché... and still agreed. You'll notice that, even in those cases, the visual cues are still linear, though not parallel.

No lashing, just in good fun. You are right about allot of what you have said but it still comes down to personal preference. AT the end of the day it's all about what you like and want to do. I value your opinion as well as most of the others on this site, you can do it so I don't mind your thoughts on it. What gets me are the guys that slam others work when they can't even find the muffler bearing on their own truck:lol:

Here is some of todays Tahoe progress. jugernot came over for the day to play and we pulled the 72 front end off and replaced it with a 67 unit I had stashed in the attic. Then Jugernot stripped the paint and bondo off the pass side doors as I Tigged up the drivers side quarter. We also took a small break before lunch and went and flew a small RC Plain I picked up this week to see if I still remembered how to fly after 20yrs of not.

To me, the PT handles would look great on a 60-66.

I saw an H3 in traffic today and the door handles on those are similar in design, but more squared off. I don't know the scale of them compared to a Suburban, or if they're pushbutton or not.

A 67 clip just looks "right" on EVERYTHING!!! :D

Does this mean you'll be shaving the markers too?

Well not allot of progress but some still the same. I have the rear quarters finished and will start on the wheel/door opening in the next day or so. Then I have some metal finishing to do before I can lay on the DP48L epoxy sealer.

H3s are like all other GM trucks, their pull handles. You could make it work I'd imagine, I'll have to look at the escalade one I have at my dad's this weekend. GM is cheap and uses the same design on many handles.

I don't know if it is faster or not then stripper but way less toxic and I can start a panel and just stop for the night. If you use stripper you can not stop until you finish that area, wash it and clean up all the mess.
.

got a picture of this woven disk and a good place to get them?

Yes I did but I don't know how to send them back and I figured you were busy saving the world so I didn't call back.
