Please help me identify this interesting piece of metal I found in the back of my truck? Anybody know what this is for?

Thank you, I just did not get any bottle jacks with that crank handle so I was curious what that might be.....

Don't pitch it because you don't have a jack it fits. It's worth a few bucks.

Oh no I was not planning on doing that, I will keep it for a future use as you never know when you need one and its good to have it handy for those ever needed situations.

Did you look behind your seat on the passenger side for the bottle jack? That is where the bottle jack was stored. It is held in place by a spring on my 1971.

might also be used if they put a crank up under bed spare tire holder in. (As opposed to the "correct" lift and bolt up spare holder).

That is for 1971-72 I believe. Those two years have the folding jack handle.
67-70 have non folding, about 5 feet long. Yours is the best style IMO.
If I'm wrong on the correct years, someone please correct me.

I have a 72 and the jack handle folds up and even has it's own protective sleeve. Didn't stop it from getting rusty though

'67-'72 trucks originally all had the folding jack handle.
