Re: Back half , bed floor
I did a rear frame for my 66 last year, and ended up fabricating a multi piece subfloor from aluminum channel, which holds an aluminum bed skin.
Do you have any sections of frame which protrude above the floor height? |

Re: Back half , bed floor
I welded tabs on my frame and used 2" x 2", 3/16" thick aluminum angle as cross members to mount my floor to. The tabs will have to vary in height so that the cross members end up at the same top height. Then I mounted my aluminum sheet floor to that. I plan on replacing the aluminum sheet with wood in the next year or so. Placed every 18" (I think), the floor is strong enough to support some load- I would not be concerned about standing on it once I get the wood in.

Re: Back half , bed floor
I will be doing similar . Tabs on the bed sides and the frame . Aluminum angle to mount the wheel tubes . I was told I needed a floor . That a truck with just a bed cover created some lift at the top end due to wind getting under and in the bed area.
