93 s10 v8 conversion shift linkage
I have a 2wd x-cab 93 I did a v8 swap. The truck originally had a 4l60e tranny. I thought it was a 700r4? I swapped the tranny with a th350 can anyone share there experience with what you did on the shift linkage??

i have two different experiences with this...
did a v8 swap years ago in a 95 which is the newer body style but dont think that matters. anyways 350 engine th350 transmission. i had a old hurst shifter laying around and just got all the cables and adapters for the transmission and dont remember having any issues with it once i got all the parts http://i.imgur.com/hocFuuhl.jpg on my 1993 with the 4l60 transmission which you guessed it, is basically a 700r4, i just went to a junkyard and snagged a shifter assembly off a late 80s camaro. again dont really remember having any issues and pretty sure it bolted right up using everything i found at the junkyard. http://i.imgur.com/ZFVvV4Vl.jpg the 93 is a offroad truck so i guess if you grabbed the console it might have looked a bit better lol the camaro shifter is the one on the left. the other one is for a np208 transfercase |
Re: 93 s10 v8 conversion shift linkage
Thanks for the reply I am going to do what you did and install a floor shifter the factory linkage is hitting the header. It is hard to gauge the correct bend that is needed. Thanks again.

Re: 93 s10 v8 conversion shift linkage
no problem. both of those set ups use cables. that was the whole reason i put the camaro shifter in the offroad truck, there was a few times during flexing the shifter wouldnt shift so i went with a floor shifter
