I figured I would put some pictures up of the new to me truck I’ve been working on lately. Trying to decide if I’m going to keep it or sell it and put money towards finishing my shortbed 67. This truck has been interesting. I have a inspection 85’ and some shop receipts from 67’ that we’re in the truck still. Apparently original owner passed away in 85’ and his wife parked the truck. Had to chisel the rock hard weather stripping out. All rubber was rock hard. 327 4 barrel was clean inside when I pulled air cleaner and valve covers. Had oil still but diff was dry but not rusty. Confused on that one. New plugs, points, wires, alt., battery, master, brake lines, pads, wheel cylinders, windshield, rockers, cab corner, fixed few wires, getting original white walls soon, fluids, radiator, hoses and weatherstripping. Hopefully drives like a champ next week. Waiting on fuel sending unit because old on was way clogged up.

That was the plan at first and I might still do that. I’ll definitely have trouble selling it cause it’s the most original of these trucks I’ve ever had. It’s fun to work on one that hasn’t been messed with and parts swapped out. Some before and afters of a couple things.

It was actually a 4 jet. Pretty easy rebuild. It was my first time rebuilding a carb. Read the Rochester quadrajet book before realizing it was 4 jet. Cliff Ruggles helped me out with a few questions.

Wow, still had the tag on it, that tells a lot!!! I didn't know that those carbs were on 67's...

Cliff is THE master carb guy!!!

Did you plug the exh heat holes in the intake base gasket surface???

WHen you get a chance I'd like to see a couple more pictures of that bypass hose setup. I have not seen any like that. Medium duty trucks have something similar, some Corvettes were similar, I think...

And I'd sure there are others, besides me :D wondering what the option list inside the glove box lid looks like...

Very nice , I hoping to make my 67 looking as orginal as possible with it's four barrel 327 also , yours looks like a automatic, so I think that would be a 400 Turbo, man if ever posible I would love tons of pic of how things look and how parts sit in place and find out what I'm missing that I'll need. Is that power steering, power brake. Great find .

I will maybe try to start a build thread tonight on it with more pictures. Been filming a bunch and plan on making little video on it. Yeah has turbo 400. Power brakes were added right after he bought it. I’ll get pic of receipt cause labor was something like $5 for installing power brakes.

Can’t read anything off the glove box. Bypass hose runs to a big spacer by thermostat. Here’s a few pictures from today. Finishing pads, springs and wheel cylinders in the front today. I like the overflow box. Plus the Delco pleasurizer shock is my favorite sticker.

Some receipts of different things. Power brakes were added on was $30 parts and $5 labor. Grease $2 repair carb $3. Inspection from 7-31-84 (19 days after I was born) 10,573miles. Purchased 6/20/67 for $3218 and only made it to 8-15-67 before installing power brakes. It has the older style power steering setup to answer your questions. Hopefully it holds up.

Cool find! Those labor rates are hard to believe! What's up with the AC Plugs in front of the core support ? Was it set up as a generator for power tools and such?

Yeah he had them hooked up to alternator for power tools is my guess. I unhooked and cleaned up wiring but left box there for now cause I thought it was interesting.

I’ve been working on the 5.3 for my shortbed so I forgot to post these. Sewed up my visors that opened up. Also made a seat cover out of some blankets I picked up in Mexico. Just need to pick up some thin white walls. Been putting it off trying to sell my slot mags first but I guess I’ll just buy them so I can get truck on the road.

Curious about the arm rests in your door panel picture.
I have identical arm rests on my 1967 step side and always assumed they were not original. I even got a set of what I think was original to the truck and have yet to install them.
Your truck is pretty authentic..... so now I am wondering what arm rests came in the 67 models.

I think the skinny ones are the original for 67. One of the guys I talked to said he’s seen the bigger ones in later production 67’s. I’m guessing they used up their stock from the 66’s. I don’t really know though.

Today I finally picked up some white walls for my longbed. They are just as cool as I imagined. My day went downhill after that when I tried to install the brake bolt on my pedal. I never realized you had to take so much stuff off to get it in. Column was in my way. Time it and make sure shoes are adjusted properly then trucks ready to drive. Also want to clean the hubcaps up some before I put them on.
