I have always liked the single because thay have dome lights in them

very few pros to the double wall tops. Maybe insulate road noise better....that's about it. Besides, these babies are meant to be topless!!

Single walls came out in 72 (I think) and for good reason.

Correct.

Double walls are heavier, harder to bolt/unbolt and tend to split.
