Stereo Installation for a 91 Chevy C1500

I have a 91 Chevy C1500 and I want to install a Kenwood AM/FM/Cd Player in dash, so I bought the player and the installation kit and I was looking at the dashboard and I'm not sure, do i have to take the whole dash apart to put in the new stereo? or is their a simpler way of installing it. Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks.

Nope you don't have to remove the dash to install just the piece where the factory tape/cd player would be. The only thing holding it in is two clips on the bottom and two tabs that slide into the top of the dash pad. Just be careful with the clips on the bottom can be tricky sometimes to get out but not to difficult. Also make sure to look up under the dash for the actual brains of the factory stereo.

Yea that sounds about right to me thats how my '88 is and I couldn't of said it any better myself. I think the Silverados might have a different radio setup and not be in the middle but I am not to sure on this.
