Exhaust Routing on 2WD Blazer ?
So I went to get and exhaust put on my lowered 2wd 71 blazer and they said no way could they get the piping over the rear axle . They said no room for mufflers and all the bending. I figured they were being a lazy but when I looked it's true , not much free space under there.
Right now my trailing arms are hitting the mufflers . So what kind of setups are you guys running ? Any real small muffles ? Thanks |

I recently took the headers off my 71. Installed stock manifolds. Exhaust dumps out in front of back tire. Dual Smithys. Sounds good. Works good.

How low is it? I have a 4/6 and mine are over the rear axle. I can try to get pics later.

I have custom headers that bring the collectors up level with the bottom of the frame. The lmufflers are Spintecs (which I would say are not really small) they have a a front straight in connection and a side rear exit. From the side rear of the muffler the exhaust routes over the trailing arm and under the frame. From there it runs outside the frame and right next to the frame all the way back on both sides to a stock appearing exit behind the wheels. Btw, I run 3" exhaust. Noting touches anywhere, even with the bags all rhe way down. That being said, I'd say it's like a 4-6" drop because I don't have a notched frame.
