69 shortbed emergency brake cable routing

Hello does anyone have detailed pictures of how to properly run the emergency brake cables? My 2 short cables from the drums are good but the others are ripped. I’m putting my truck together so I want to make sure how they’re ran ahead of time.

They are all pretty much the same except for in the cab and where the main cable goes through the firewall. This will give you an idea.

LockDoc nailed it, again.

If you want pics, send me your email address in a PM. The pics are too large to post to the board.

Rather than start a new thread , I'm adding a question . Can any one tell me what this part in the illustration is ? I have purchased every thing from the handle to the rear backing plates for my '67. Maybe I'm still missing something. Thanks.

So even after I ask for help I keep looking for the answer.... And low and behold I think the picture quality is just bad . This picture makes it clear , so it appears nothing is there.

Does anyone have a photo of how the cable is routed and sits under the hood of a 1970 C10 Shortbed?

Thank you

The upper clamp bolts to the inner fender panel and the lower clamp bolts to the frame. Small rubber gromet where the cable goes through the firewall.

Thank you LockDoc,

You don't by chance have an actual photo of the way it rests under the hod, do you? Also, what do the clamps look like? I have a bag full of them and not sure what goes where at this point.

Here are pictures of my '69 long bed. I'd expect the cowl to frame portion would be the same as a short bed.

Thank you Jim!

Does the e-brake line go between the inner fender and the two brake lines going up to the master cylinder? Or around the brake lines?

It's rearward of the brake lines. You can also see that in the second pic of my previous post. The cable goes rearward behind the top shock mount. The brake lines run down the frame in front of the shock mount.

Does anyone have pictures of the holes the twist hook goes in? My 69 long bed 2wd had all of its parking brake cables hooks etc removed before I bought it. My other question is which hole in the crossmember where the carrier bearing is mounted does it the cable go thru. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

That will help a lot thank you. I see a brace in photos 2 & 3 that my truck doesnt have. That must be a difference between the C-10 frame and the C-20.
