tire pressure monitore system light

Re: tire pressure monitore system light
check your spare tire also. they have 5 sensors if the spare is low it will not go out. other then that i should reset it self once all 5 tires are the same pressure

Re: tire pressure monitore system light
aftermarket wheels?
|
Re: tire pressure monitore system light
no they are stock wheels but i have not thought about the spare!

Re: tire pressure monitore system light
I was thinking also that if the tires were rotated and a relearn wasn't done, it will also set the light off.

Re: tire pressure monitore system light
no not doing the relearn wont cuase a light it will just cause you dask to read the wrong tire loaction

Re: tire pressure monitore system light
well its an 07.5 or what ever the first year for the new body style. its on its second set of tires and its a basic, bottom of the line truck (fleet truck). i checked the spare tire pressure and its right at 35

Re: tire pressure monitore system light
The better tire stores have a hand held machine that is used to reset your TPMS. The machine will also tell you if the internal battery is dead.

Re: tire pressure monitore system light
The spare has no senor on a GM Tahoe or any of there makes as far as I know. Take it to the dealer and let him reset the system. Takes 5 minutes. I had my 08 done yesterday as I brought it home The left back senor lit up. Didn't charge me a thing and the set all 4 of my key phomes to. I had the 2 old ones from my 07 set with the two 08 ones.;):chevy:

Re: tire pressure monitore system light
lol idk if they will do it for free but they will do it!

Re: tire pressure monitore system light
did you just ahve tire put on when the light came on???? thinking maybe they broke a sensor when mounting the tires and yes the spare does have a sensor on some of them

Re: tire pressure monitore system light
truckdude239,
I've had a 07 Tahoe and now a 08 Tahoe. Neither had a spare senor on the dash. The tire may have it already in the tire but the dash only shows the 4 tires that are on the road. Mine does any way!;):chevy: |
Re: tire pressure monitore system light
well its on its second set of tires and i bought it from my dads work fleet. i found out how to do the relearn and the right front wont make the horn honk but the rest do

I was told today by the service manager at the dealer ship the spare does have the senor hooked up and it will cause the light to set if it goes bad or get's lower than 35lbs. I had to take my 08 back again today and have it relearned. They said the spare would set it off but you can't follow the manual directions for resetting it because it's not one on the dash. The low senor light will come on but the 4 position's are only for the road tires. I apolagize to you for not knowing this before. I knew the tire had the senor but didn't realize it was in the system. |
Re: tire pressure monitore system light
on my 2008, this is what i had to do. set the parking break. press and hold the lock and the unlock on the fob. the DIC will display something like "relearn tire pressure". let air out of the left front tire until the lights flash or the horn toots . can't remember which. takes about eight seconds.
then do the same on the right front, right rear, and left rear in that order. after the fourth wheel, the horn toots twice. then you can fill them back up to where they are supossed to be. |
Re: tire pressure monitore system light
I don't know if this will help you... but what I did was: turn your light switch all the way to the left and it should reset itself (did on mine anyways).
Anthony Update: I tried this again and it didn't work... must of been a conquinadence? spelling? |
