the cab has minimal rust, only in some flat sections in the front corners, and the door bottoms are shot

Looks like maybe wide fenders? Kinda hard to tell, but is it a 1.5 ton front end?

You have very good judgment, it looks solid, GMC's are rarely seen these day.
