Been meaning to do this for awhile. Notice on the 72 and 73 stands the upper bolt locations and a single "bump" on the 72 and 2 "bumps" on the 73 and ups. If anyone wants to add the 6 cyl stands or any other info, please do. Enjoy.

Might be a good idea to have the mods move this thread to the FAQ. I know I'd like it there to reference it when I need it.

Here are some pictures I took awhile back to clear up some confusion folks have with the difference between I6 and small block mounts.

just a little more tid bit of fyi.. you can put a small block on big block stands... i didn't think it was possible but we did it a while back with a buddy's truck.

Eric,... I have a 68 GMC lwb frame that I believe originally had a V-6 in it.
These frame stands look a little different than all of the above mounts.
(I'll get pics tonight)
Can you verify that these are indeed, a different mount?

Re: FYI: V-8 engine stands... Know em

I heard that the BB stands were pretty hard to find and/or expensive.

Both.
The way I understand it,... the 68-71 Big Block frame stands are cheap(er) and the actual motor mount is expensive.

And the '72 Big Block frame stands are expensive,... and the motor mounts are cheap(er).

So I think it's a wash on pricing.

Usually there is a few sets for sale here on the board in the 67-72 Classifieds Section.

The big block ones have a dip in the top by the frame rail to clear the big block exhaust manifolds...
