Another Blinker Problem
 

The issue is I noticed my left turn blinker isn't working. the right blinker works fine.

I thought it might of been a bulb but I eliminated that by swapping the front grill marker bulbs. problem still there with a different bulb.

I also noticed that the left arrow on instrument cluster isn't working either. The right arrow works fine.

The time delay relay on the fuse panel is clicking the same for both sides.

Any thoughts?

I have the same problem. I think it is in the column. It dont work till I turn the wheel and it clickes a few times. Also check ground. The bulb housing ground to the light asembly. Try wiggling it. If that don't fix it. Get a test ligh I beleve brown is content power and blue is the blinker signal. If no power at the blue wire when blinker is on ( should blink the teat light) then its in the colum. At leat that's what I think.it's a good place to start anyway.

to check ground at bulb housing, remove cluster right? looks like a pain. any tricks to keep the tach and others gauges free from damage? anything would help since its first time for me

You could remove the cluster but you can just reach up under the dash and feel around. I've replaced bulbs in mine this way. It is kida a pain but it's easyer to do then remove the cluster. I ment the park light btw. My bad.

If you swapped the bulb w/ a known good one, then it's time to measure some voltage or use a test light. If the dash light doesn't light but some turn signal lights on that side, chances are the dash bulb is toast.

If you end up removing the cluster; clean the copper contacts on the circuit board where the bulbs make contact. I too had a blinker indicator that didn't work. Cleaning the contacts got it to work as it should.

One wire will be your running light the other will be turn brake
check for ground from frame to light housing with a meter or make a ground jumper from your frame with a good clean connection with a wire lead to your light housing
The two wires are half the circuit the ground is the other half.
If there is too much corrosion for the ground the light will not work

the tail light harness plug at back of the drivers side of the truck pull apart there to check for power to tail lights as dirty connection here could be a problem and broken wire from here to tail light can be an issue too

If the tail light harness and grounding are good I would unplug the column harness and check the action of the turn signal switch there with out having to pull the wheel off

Most trucks dash light stops when there is an issue with a signal light failure

Lots of taillight issues are due to , bad grounding , check you grounds back there

do the brake lights work on both sides? if so it's not the bulb in the rear. I'm thinking you may have a problem in the column switch assembly. What about the emergency 4 way flasher. Does it work both sides?

Good info gents! ill try these options and get back to you. Got a new born in the house so it may take a bit.

I may have gave incorrect info on a previous thread. I rechecked and The rear blinkers both work. The only lamp not blinking is the driver front. Hazards don’t work either.

If you've gone through and checked circuit power, you may need a new turn signal flasher.

Check the power side of the circuit up by the socket in the fender , if its getting power ,its either the fixture or ground , they have a ground wire in my experience , and are not chassis ground
