Horsepower?

Have a BBC 468 with approximately 8.5:1-9:1 cr, edelbrock 11-413-8 cam .510lift intake and exhaust ,dur .006,intake tappet 264 exhaust tappet270, edelbrock rpm air gap intake, edelbrock 750cfm carb, msd e curve distributor, 049 high performance heads, speedway short tube headers with dual h piped exhaust. Block casting # 3999289. Has between 155-160 pressure in each cylinder cold. Wanted to see if anyone could estimate the horsepower, no access to a dyno, any estimates would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

With that small of a cam, I'd say 325-350 maybe. Last 454 I built was similar, but had more compression and cam, that was roughly 375-400....

I have a program called Dyno2000 that I've had for years that allows one to input all the specs of an engine to give you the hp and torque. Don't know how accurate it is but it's pretty cool to experiment with different parts to see the affect on output.

I suppose it's now called Dyno2018.

Re: Horsepower?

I’ve got a 462CI with 049 heads ported, polished and matched to intake, edelbrock rpm intake, Holley 770 avenger carb, comp cam XM270 marine cam with .510 lift. Around 8.5:1 compression, roller rockers and lifters. 2400 stall converter.

Dyno’ed out at 379RWHP/419RWTQ all below 5200 RPMs. With a T350 tranny and driveline losses the shop estimated the engine at the flywheel was around 450HP/510TQ.

Very streetable.

I know it will roost a set of tires, ask my neighbors. Lol.

Anyone out there have experience with msd e curve distributor? Have a BBC 468 approximately 8:5 to 9:0 cr , 11-413-8 comp cam, rpm air gap intake, edelbrock 750cfm carb, shorty headers with h piped, 049 high performance heads. Wondering if any suggestions on which program to run for best performance if it's even possible to suggest.

Re: Horsepower?

Considering your elevation you’ll need lots of initial. Likely near 18. Plus 14 in mechanical all in by 3200 and another 10 from the vac advance.
Did you lower your floats slightly in the eddy 750?
How are you liking that air gap intake in the colder weather?
What transmission?
What rear gears?
