Well I am getting excited about my Panel again. Work has started to resume.. I purchased a 2001 Z-28 with a 350LS motor and 4L60E trans to push it along. The split barn door work is nearing completion and the "surprise" 59/60 Impala dash is getting close to being done. Enjoy the pics... WES

Thanks, Ya, I'm loving the dash. We have to weld in the upper center section then move the radio area over about an inch to recenter it. So a little more work there... Here are the gauges that I am thinking I will use, and the 2001 Z-28 that is giving up it's life to further my panel's... Oh and a couple pictures of the motor... :metal: lol WES

Just some old LS motor. BTW, what does SLP stand for and who the heck is John Ligenfelter anyway?

We can just do some trading. I need a few things for my truck and a few things for a different project.

I live 14 miles from Lingenfelters- have seen a few Vettes & Camaros out for "test runs"- should propel your panel just fine.

Re: I am getting excited about my Panel!!

Thanks guys. I guess the SLP is some special air breather. Not to sure, my knowledge of these Camaros is almost non-existent. The lingenfelter cathedral manifold is supposed flow better than stock. I need to talk to someone about these LS motors. I am in the dark about them. I do know this one has an aluminum block though. CG, I am good with trading too.

Re: I am getting excited about my Panel!!

Wes, Is that a sectioned tail gate? So does the lower half open with 2 low ''dutch'' doors and is the top still a liftgate hatch?

Classic Heartbeat 08-18-2017 11:48 PM

Re: I am getting excited about my Panel!!

Suville, the hinges are 2008 to 2012 Silverado extended cab rear door hinges. 68orangesunshine, The lower doors are barn doors cut off with the top of a suburban tailgate graphed to them. The hatch or lift gate is suburban...

Re: I am getting excited about my Panel!!

The reason I chose Silverado door hinges is because the way they work. Also they have their own stops built in so no need to install straps to keep the doors from opening too far.

Google says, A company that has been in business for over 25+ years making performance parts. SLP= Street Legal Performance

Re: I am getting excited about my Panel!!

During those years SLP is the company who converted the Z28 camaros tonthe SS spec. I have an 2002 SS. They also made quite a few performance parts for them as well.

Thanks for the information. Didn't know that. Do you know what the horse power ratings were?

Should be around 320 for the ls1 another 10 or so for the cold air intake, probably another 10 or so for the lingenfelter intake. Put a good exhaust on it and you should be around 350 easily.

Re: I am getting excited about my Panel!!

Thanks again guys. You guys are a big help as always. I look forward to reading up on the motor. Nice thing is it also has the 4L60E transmission, auburn possi, and 13" Disc brakes all around. Not sure what I will do with all that but someone owning another Camaro will probably want it.. :metal::lol:
Oh ya, Yes Pete those are Buddy Buckets... :chevy: (67)

This engine was rated by the factory at 340hp/310tq at 4000 and 5200 respectively. Most agree that these were under rated by quite a bit so YMMV but I'll bet this thing is much closer to 380hp and 400tq stock. They're best with a manual tranny IMHO.

It will push your panel around just fine!
