test fitting tires and wheels

I thought I would just throw these on the M1031 and see how they fit. No lift. 315/75R16 Kumhos on 16x10 wheels.

Re: test fitting tires and wheels
I will be doing a little trimming. Not as bad as I thought though. Most of the trimming will be up and under the fender. I will take a pic of the finished product.

Here's the trimming I did, can't really tell unless you look down on the tire.

Re: test fitting tires and wheels
4.56s will roll that rubber right along. I ran 35s on my '85 Jimmy 6.2/700r4/4.10s and it moved along just fine. Got to remember it was a novel thing in the mid-80s to have a diesel in a light truck. You didn't expect to hear a diesel moving one. Nothing came close to the fuel economy either. Still can't beat that!

Re: test fitting tires and wheels
Tim it does have the tru-trac up front. It does get up and move, nothing like my gas trucks though. The 4.56s definitely help.

Re: test fitting tires and wheels
What I like is the power is right there immediately from standing still. I mean the initial movement is hit the throttle and it leaps forward. Total bottom end grunt. In Lo4 it's crazy strong. With OD these diesels will roll all day long at 75 mph, smiling the while way. Both my '91 Suburban and '85 Jimmy ran 4.10s with 35s. Actually, they were the same axles and tires.
