First off, Welcome to the greatest truck board on the net. Second, some specific idea of what your problem is would help us to help you figure it out. If you're wanting to know how to time it initially, I always start mine out at 8 degrees BTDC and go from there.

Welcome from Ohio. Be happy you are in the land of plentifull/clean trucks. I miss Texas trucks.
Are you talking about the timing for your spark...or timing as in you are trying to install a new chain?

well actually the timing WAS fine but my truck wasnt going over 40 and I was told it could be that little suction thing on the ditributor that goes to the carburator but then I was told it most likly was my transmission modulator I fixed it but I had to take off the distributor in order to take out that suction thing and to find out when I went to autozone they told me it was fine and they made a mistake in what I needed to take out and I put it all back but now the truck wont turn all the way over almost but doesnt and I am just learning to work on rthis truck I have fixed many things that might take you guys a couple of minutes to a few hours but for me a few days, but I read that book (chilton) and I finally will figure it out but timing is not in the book so if that is enough info okease help
