Hopefully next time it goes together its for good.

I also started to make some new door panels. These pics. are just the start. They fit good, going to try to make some arm rests next. http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/...14990F50C5.jpg
Not much else for now. Have a good night. :chevy:

Re: 1965 C-10 LS build

Been slow with the work on the truck lately. I finished priming the fenders and the door. I finished putting together the guage cluster last night. I painted it blue and had a local powder coater hydro dip it with a carbon fiber finish.

http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/...3C3B1B7ECB.jpg

I think that the truck is going to go back together soon with just a primer finish. My daughter is going off to college this fall and I need to start putting more money away for that tuition bill. She did get half of the tuition paid for so far with scholar ships and a little money for being recuited for softball, but ,the rest we will have to take care of.

I did a search on this forum and found a number of guys that left there trucks in primer and drove them. A larger majority of them that used epoxy primer did have any problems with them. I wanted to paint it this year but its not that bad taking them apart when it comes time for paint.

Hope everyone has a great day.
Finely get to watch some hockey today. :ennyd:

Thank you for the nice words. The plan for tomorrow was to try to make the arm rests. But first I need to replace the radiator in my wife vehicle. The weather around chicago land is going to get cold for a few days so I need to get the radiator changed. I'm going to try to use some 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 steel angle for the mount then build around that with wood, fleece and fiberglass. I will post some pics if I get it figured out.

Have a great weekend. :chevy:

I got some more work done on the door panels. Built the arm rests, used some pieces of 1 x 3, 1 1/2 doll rod, 1/8" hard board. Wrapped then in fleece and put a coat of fiberglass resin on them. Mounted one of them on the door panel. Drill some holes so they can be mounted to the door so I don't pull the arm rest off. Still need to cut in a pull Handel and cut the hole for the power window switch but e everything his working out so far.

http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/...8CF8FC8F8F.jpg

http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/...8D0047A199.jpg

Also fiberglassed in the clips to mount the door panel to the door. Go to try to get some foam on the arm rest and the door and cover them with some black leather type material.

Have a great night.

Looking good and like the air box. I might do mine like that. I'm doing an LT1 in my truck. Just got it running and very pleased with it. I did run my harness next to the tranny and came up under the seat with the harness and mounted the computer under the seat. Look on Jegs or Summit for grommets that will work with the harness. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/si...-100/overview/

If they dressed like that up here, which they dont, not even in the so-called summer.... it would still look like Yeti in a bikini.

Sometimes I really envy you guys down south !!

Thanks for checking out the build. I Checked out your build and it's looking good. I might copy what you did with your gas tank. I mounted my pump on the frame but I want to move it into the tank. I checked out them grommets and ordered one to try. Good luck with your build.

Not much happening with the truck lately. I did get both of the door panels covered. I think they look good for my first try. I had a couple of small cracks in the arm rests, so I had to spend a little bit of time fixing the fibergalss but there ready to either cover or paint, not sure what i'm going to do yet. Here is a couple of pics of one ofthe door cards. The one picture is a little rough but the others are good.

To everyone on the east coast around New York and the Boston area, Be safe it sounds like you guys and gals are going to be getting some rough weather.

Well a little more progress. I was able to get the jams on the cab and the doors done. The plan was to paint the truck and the parts with a flattened clear, but, the clear came out glossy. I mixed the flattening adder the way the supplier told me but it still came out clear. I like the shine. I think I may change my mind on the satin finish. Here are some pictures:

Here are a couple of pics of the arm rests. They don't have any clear on them yet, it's just the hot rod Flatz paint.

Very nice slick looking paint, Looks good. What color gray is that? Did you have it mixed? Do you have the paint code for the gray? Nice choice on that blue, looks nice.

Thank you. I never sprayed this much in my garage before, I have a lot off cleaning to do when it warms up. The gray is gun smoke metallic from TCP Global. It there Hot Rod Flatz. It's there single stage flat paint. The jams have DuPont clear on them. :chevy:
