Stock hub caps on smoothies
Anyone ever adapted stock hub caps on a set of smoothies? I think I have seen it done but was wondering how the hub cap is retained. I was thinking of using the 1936-1963 retainers bolted to the wheels for the caps. i would have to drill the wheels, but it might work. Anything easier? Thoughts?

Oh yeah, it's been done quite a bit. There are cap clips made for doing exactly this. I use the Mobsteel clips on mine, but I drilled and tapped my holes instead of using the hardware they provided. These clips are decent, but deform a bit each time you pull the cap off. I always have to bend them back out before I put the caps back on. So far haven't lost a cap yet though in one year. There are even nicer clips made by a guy on Instagram w/ username struggle_55. They are called Cap Clips and have very good reviews. They are twice the price of the Mobsteel clips though, which is why I tried those first. If I ever need new clips, I will go with Cap Clips.
