Is Serial Number correct?

My VIN: CE169Z863105, 69 V8 Suburban built in Freemont

In other threads, it seems the "8" should be a "1" with the starting number of 100001 for the assembly plant. There was only 14k of this model made. Adding up all model production number totals in 69 only comes to 560550. So what accounts for "8"?

Re: Is Serial Number correct?

CE169Z863105

C = 2wd
E = V8 engine
1 = 1/2 ton
6 = Suburban
9 = 1969
Z = Freemont, CA Assembly plant
863105 = Serial number (Starts at 100001)

My guess is that the 1st 3 digits are a code number for the assembly line it came from in Freemont CA.

That digit in my VIN is 1.
