C1500 and K20 Burb swap frames?

Can you swap a 1969 GMC c1500 and a 1968 suburban K20 frames? I would want the burb to be 5 lug 2wd and our GMC to be a K20.

I understand the GMC 2wd frame will need a sub gas tank, but could you swap the frames otherwise?

As far as I know, yes. It seems the common belief is that truck and Suburban frames have different profiles, but my friend was researching frame differences and found diagrams with all the dimensions that showed they had only some minor difference that wouldn't matter,if any at all. The body mounts vary, which will be obvious and not too difficult to deal with. The 4wd and 2wd differences are minor, too. The frame at the engine cradle rises up about an inch higher over the axle on the 4wd frame. My friend who did the frame research is a member here and you should PM him to pick his brain. He's Olblue60@aol.com.

I believe the Burb frame is longer in the back (about 6-8") and the frame mounts for the rear cab location are different. Also the pickup front bed brackets would have to be added to the burb frame. Not a big problem as long as you have both frames, just swap the brackets frame to frame and what you cut off of the back of the burb frame, add to the pickup frame......
