Couldnt find the 292 on any list.

My 250 was light enuf to chain hoist from my garage cieling back on the chassis without bringing down the house. Thats what I was worried about!

Re: How much does an Inline six Weigh?

I bought a used complete 235 for my '56 a long time ago. I must have been about 16. Me and my dumb teenaged buddies went over there and picked it up by hand, and somehow stuffed it in the back of a Ford Country Squire station wagon. I remember thinking that thing was crazy heavy. Amazing none of us lost any fingers or toes.

The 250 was light enuf to hang from the garage ceiling. That was my fear on the weight. Clsoer to 600 lbs I might have thought twice.

Here's one even dumber: about 20 years ago I picked up a long block 327, twice, by myself. I thought if you were strong enough to do it, do it, wrong! I later found out that was way too much weight for a guy 5'7" and 150 lbs. soaking wet.
