Project (WRAITH)
4 Attachment(s)
Hi everybody,
My name is Shane and I am a total newbie when it comes to these trucks. Also wrenching isn't my strong suit but since hanging out on this forum and bugging the crap out of all you guys has helped me out tremendously, special shout out to Travis (truckmanloco) and Eric (superflysteiny) for all your help! I started out with a 68 C10 swb Custom that I bought in Lowell Oregon for $500 bucks, the truck was in good shape except for a small tweak in the front of the frame. I took the frame to a shop and they straightened for me. My plans are to have the truck have a dark sinister look about it, to run 22's front and rear along with a front and rear extreme dropmember so here goes nothing! lol |

Here I'm still disassembling the truck down to the chassis.

If you look hard you can see that the front of the frame is tweaked to the left!

So I decided to go with Fuel Offroad Hostages for wheels which are also my avatar. These wheels are pretty aggressive looking 22x11 in the rear with I believe a 4.75 inch backspace. I went down to the local Tire Factory and they had a set of used 305/40/R22 Toyo Proxes STII for $80 so I got them thinking I'm just going to burn them off anyway! lol

I was going to convert to 5 lug but decided to stay 6 lug so instead of going with Wilwood brakes I went with CPP Big Brakes.

For someone who don't know a lot about theses trucks, you sure are doing a bang up job. Keep up the great work.

I love the black on black murdered out look which is the look I'm going for hence the Title and theme WRAITH aka REAPER, sort of like Porterbuilt's shop truck but meaner looking! I'd also like to do the dash and door panels in a skull pattern hydrographic.
Tell me what your thoughts are! |
Re: Project (WRAITH)
I like it! Good work Shane!

Hey Everyone,
Shane here, I know this build is going as slow as the second coming but hang in there the finished product will be one mean looking truck! PorterBuilt Rear Extreme Dropmember just showed up it sucked waiting for it to show up! (Like a kid waiting to get a bb gun on Christmas!) Anyway got some grinding done so the notches will sit completely flat and going to start drilling holes and then cutting away the frame! Any pointers for finding exact center of the notch? Can't say enough good things about Nate's craftsmanship his products are badass! Shane |

Re: Project (WRAITH)
are you going to keep the chevy writing on the hood?
|
Re: Project (WRAITH)
Looks like another killer project. Cool plans for it too. subscribing

Re: Project (WRAITH)
Don't know if I'm going to keep the Chevy letters on the hood or not. I bought a 2 inch cowl hood so I would have to drill a hole for each letter. The whole front clip is brand new, the hood looks badass! Can't wait to get a rolling chassis!!!

A little progress I got the rear extreme dropmember bolted up for mock up just need to get angles finalized and a driveline and get the bag perches welded! Not bad for a greenhorn!

So I have a small problem I measured my rear end and was told with my setup that 2 inches off each side would be perfect well it's too short. Right now the wheel will rub on the bridge on my extreme dropmember. Are wheel spacers a good idea or do I need a new housing? The wheels aren't bolted up but but they're too close when bolted up.
