Guys look at this picture closely. Is there supposed to be weather stripping on the actual doors as well? Around the top? When it rains carpets around all four doors leak like crazy. There is no weatherstripping on any actual door. I bought the burb used .

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!

On the door openings not the doors there is the primary weather strip, and the secondary weather strip. The primary weather strip is to stop water from getting into the cabin. The secondary weather strip is to keep crud (leaves, pine needles) out. Water can get into the cabin though the doors, and look like bad weather strips. With the door trim panel off check to make sure the plastic seal inside is glued to the door. water runs down the plastic and into the truck onto the carpet. if the doors have been worked on, or the glue gets old and goes for a crap water leak.

Mine is slightly not "stock" it looks a little weathered. I did replace the window motor a while back. Guess I didn't reinstall correctly. Looks right though. What about using gorilla tape to hold in place around the seams were the glue is not as sticky as before?

Riddle me this....I still dont understand how in the heck rain is getting inside the truck. Running down the plastic??????????? how? The windows are sealed tight than a drum from the outside.

I don't understand how it's getting this wet....

Water gets in the lower edge of the window opening, the belt moulding has a soft edge to the glass. The water runs behind the trim panel and into the cab, north of the primary weather strip. Remove the door trim panel and do a water test, just start low a work up with a garden hose. One person inside with a light, one working the hose. If you remove the kick panel on the base of the a pillar, you can see if you have a second leak.

Weather strip can still be bought at some Dealerships, or LMC.com, Classicparts.com, Rockauto.com and im sure more places. What i do is look at lmc.com catalog to figure out what im missing, then call the dealership to see if they still have it. ....... Also a 99 suburban is still the 88-98 truck bodystyle. If you can't find the info you need here in the 99-06 section, check our 88-98 message board. There's some info on 99 subs in there too.
