1959 chevy 3600 pick up

Hey everyone im new to the forum. getting my build started!

My grandpa left my cousin the truck when he passed in 1989, papa was using it for landscaping in the 70s. My cousin drove it for a few years till it had an issue and it was parked. Last weekend I dug it out of the barstow, California sand and drug it onto a trailer to bring home to las vegas. cousin gave me the title and was stoked im bringing it back to life.

Im starting with updating the front end suspension. I cant seem to find anything online about the progressive automotive mustang 2 ifs hub to hub, if anyone has advice on it would be appreciated. My mechanic has installed it before and recommends it. Im also looking at the fatmans stage 3 mustang 2 kit, the adjustable coilovers look better... once the chassis is rolling ill move onto the engine rebuild ect.

Ill post pictures once I figure out how to get them off my phone lol.

Im thinking low and lean, im rebuilding the 283 and adding the summit "bang for the buck" carb, intake manifold, cam/lifter, timing set. should put me around 300hp @5,500 rpm (it claims). I just want a daily driver, so it will be lowered with ifs but springs, not bags. Id like to really clean up the interior and eventually add ac. as far as exterior I kinda like the patina work truck look, but well see, right now Im focused of the chassis and engine work. thanks for asking!

Nice truck, its so cool to take something abused and tossed aside, seen by many as worthless and turn it into something of value to be treasured. Good work.

Here's a link to the progressive site. They also have kits that use Corvette suspension components which is 90's tech instead of 70's tech.

Flatout engineering also has a similar product using Corvette suspension components.

Thanks yelr! Seems like the sky is the limit with this chassis stuff. If I had the cash I'd probably just plop a rolling chassis under it and forget it, but since I have a budget I'm probably just going with the m2 ifs.
