Yes if you could that would be great, Is the 83 the same size as a 79?
Also I haven't heard back from stitch I hope everything is ok.

I didn't get a pm. I'm not in my truck right now. I can measure my cab when I get home and tell you whether that seat will fit or not.

Thats strange I sent it on the 24th of this month, Heck it's even still in my sent box oh well!

Yes if you can measure it that would be great, also I would like to see if you can give me some ideas on the matter? Also were are you located? I would like to get the work done by you.

Jonboy,
Did that seat bolt right in? Also can you get some pictures of it for me?

It was already in my '87 parts truck, so I just pulled it out. The PO adapted the '87 seat tracks to the seat as far as I can tell. The 88-up seats have a 5-6" riser in their intended application. I like the seat because it is thinner than the bench that was in there, so it sits a little farther back. It is out right now, so I will try to get some pics of the brackets.

Sorry about that. I could had swore I replied to that. I thought you were saying I did t reply to another pm. Let me get home and measure and I'll let you know on the size. Also, let's figure out which seat you're gonna go with first and then I can give you a good price. The style of seat is gonna matter when it comes to pricing. And I'm in South Carolina.

Cool. How intensive was the swap? (I'm assuming you used your original seat tracks)

I used the track and brackets from the 98' seats. Where the gas tank hump is, the brackets are too tall and had to be cut down. We molded a piece of strap metal to the shape of the floor and welded it to the seat bracket.

Re: 79 C10 seat ideas

The inner brackets needed some material added to it.

This is the other inner bracket. I think this is the last pic of the seats I have on the computer. I don't own the truck anymore.

That actually doesnt look as complicated as it may sound, as long as you know someone with a cutting torch and welder  But it looks nice, and gives me some good ideas for the future.

Oh and by the way...do you remember if those seats had the seat belt buckled built into them?

I was happy with the way it turned out. The thought crossed my mind to pull out the seats when I sold the truck.

I used the stock seat belts from my 76'. The 98' seats don't have the belt built in.

I like those seats, too. They are a lot thicker in the back than the earlier seats. I am 6'1, and getting fat. I like the thinner seat. I looked at the brackets on my seat, and it looks like they used some rectangle tubing to make a riser at the front, and used the original '87 Tracks. Not too bad, if you can weld a little bit.

Or maybe a two tone black and gray

Re: 79 C10 seat ideas

Hey Stitch,
Do you have any 79 dashes laying around that you could cover also so that the bench color matches the dash? Also I would need the same material to cover the door panels.

Re: 79 C10 seat ideas

I plan on ordering a custom seat from discountrvandtruck.com The link that someone posted previously was very helpful in my decision since I didn't get a good response to my thread asking if anyone had dealt with them.

Thanks!!

I think you will be pleased. I have also found that having the armrest gives me a place to put the stereo faceplate, too. Just a thought.

Well just finished reading a PM from stitch, he said the best thing would be to do my bench like the red and black picture I posted.

Those are not stock seats for the C10's. Maybe Blazer Buckets with custom reupholstery. They are sweet lookin'!!

Well after looking through LMC and Brothers sites I could not find any trucks or blazers that had a seat like that. I really want that seat. Darn...

OK, I'm finding a few pics like these on early C10's in the 63-68 range. Seems they're called, buddy buckets...

On to do more research.
